Launch of a new bereavement training DVD

Lost for words - words for loss launches Thurs Sept 23rd

Tomorrow (Thursday Sept 23rd) The Irish Hospice Foundation will launch a new DVD and interactive training resource for bereavement support. The DVD will be launched by RTE presenter Miriam O’ Callaghan and will be available from the Irish Hospice Foundation at a cost of €20.  Further details of the launch are available HERE

‘Lost for words – words for loss’ was developed by Breffni Mc Guinness, training officer with the Irish Hospice Foundation and features insight from bereavement counsellors with organisations like Barnardos, AnamCara and Console.

The DVD is an introductory training resource which presents the different levels of bereavement support, focusing on level one support with specific input on terminal illness, coping with the death of a child and bereavement following suicide.

The DVD is aimed at those who provide initial support to the bereaved;  friends, colleagues, members of the caring professions and volunteers.

This the latest development from the Irish Hospice Foundation’s bereavement education resource centre which also offers workshops and training in bereavement – further details can be found HERE
